10th edition of Warm a Heart, Give a coat

From 5 to 27 October, companies and public collection points across the region will once again collect winter coats during the Warm a Heart, Donate a Coat campaign. This year marks a special milestone: the 10th edition of the campaign.

A warm winter coat is not something everyone can take for granted. Through Warm a Heart, Donate a Coat, companies, residents, and community organisations work together to give quality winter coats a second life and ensure they reach the people who need them most, including families facing financial difficulties, newcomers, people experiencing homelessness, and others living in poverty. Over the past nine editions, thousands of coats have been collected and distributed throughout the region. This year, we hope to help many more people stay warm during the winter months.

With this anniversary edition, “Together for Our Region” is celebrating ten years of commitment and solidarity in the region. Thanks to the efforts of residents, businesses, and community organizations, thousands of winter coats have already found new owners over the past nine editions.

Donate a winter coat

Do you have a clean and wearable winter coat at home that you no longer use? If so, please donate it between 5 and 27 October at one of the participating collection points or through your employer. Coats from your neighbours, relatives, or friends are also very welcome, so be sure to ask around and see if someone has a coat they would like to donate.
Please note: It is important that donated coats are in good condition and suitable for a second life.

Participating companies

Several partner companies are collecting winter coats from their employees as part of the campaign. Do you work for one of these companies? If so, you can donate your coat directly at your workplace.

Sorting and distribution

On 29 October, all collected coats will be sorted. Community organisations from across the region will then select the coats they would like to take with them, so they can distribute them to people who can make good use of them.
This approach ensures that the coats are matched as closely as possible to the needs of the people and communities they support.

Sharing warmth this winter

Warm a Heart, Give a Coat shows what is possible when companies, community organisations, and local residents work together. A winter coat that is no longer being worn can be of great value to someone else.
