"Sometimes it's the little moments that make all the difference. For our team, this was one of those moments."
Sustainable Development Goals:Christmas is a time for celebration, but this is not always possible for everyone. Fortunately, an enthusiastic team from Eindhoven Airport ensured that the elderly residents of the neighborhood around Vitalis Theresia got into the Christmas spirit. Together with volunteers from community center ‘t Struikske, they got to work with baking mix, waffle irons, and toppings to make delicious waffles to hand out to the elderly residents of the neighborhood.
Mieke Schouwink from Eindhoven Airport says: “It was an afternoon full of warmth and Brabant conviviality. Away from our daily work, there was room for real encounters and personal conversations. What stays with us most is the connection and gratitude we felt. It shows that small gestures and sincere attention make a big difference and break through loneliness. We greatly appreciate the volunteers at the community center who make this possible every day.”
The elderly residents of the neighborhood also enjoyed a pleasant afternoon together and, of course, the delicious fresh waffles!
