On Friday 25 September 2026, Samen voor onze Regio is organising the first edition of Pro Bono Finance Day.
During this event, financial professionals from the business sector will volunteer their knowledge and experience to support community organisations. These include accountants, controllers and financial advisers from firms such as BDO, PwC, EY and others. Together, they will work on specific financial issues, with the aim of helping community organisations through practical insights and immediately actionable advice.
Prior to the Pro Bono Finance Day, community organisations must submit their specific challenges. Based on these submissions, a matching workshop will take place on Tuesday 1 September, during which the selected organisations will meet the financial professionals and jointly determine the initial direction.
On 25 September, the corporate volunteers will get to work on site at the organisations. They will contribute their expertise on matters such as financial overviews, budgets, administration, reporting, dashboards, growth or financial policy. Around a week later, there will be a joint debriefing session to share the outcomes, experiences and results.
While taking part in volunteer activities through Samen voor onze Regio as a Rabobank employee, I discovered how much impact just a few hours of your time can make. Those experiences touched me every single time. Not only because you can make a difference for someone else, but also because you see firsthand what attention, time, and genuine involvement can mean to people. After those experiences, I knew one thing for sure: I wanted to contribute more to society. That is exactly what I now have the opportunity to do as a Relationship Manager at Samen voor onze Regio. I connect businesses and social organizations and support them in creating social impact together. It’s incredibly rewarding work and something that gives me a great deal of energy every day.
