First High Tech Campus Corporate Volunteer Day a great success!
First High Tech Campus Corporate Volunteer Day a Great Success
Every day, thousands of people at High Tech Campus Eindhoven work on the technologies and innovations of the future. But what actually happens behind those doors? During the very first High Tech Campus Corporate Volunteer Day on thursday September 3rd, more than 100 participants from various community organisations had the opportunity to find out for themselves. Together with 80 corporate volunteers from companies based on the campus, they enjoyed a day filled with new experiences, inspiring encounters and unique insights into the world of technology.
A look behind the scenes
A special discovery tour was organised for residents of Vitalis Parc Gender. Accompanied by corporate volunteers from Hezelburcht, NXP Semiconductors and Techwave, they visited several companies on the campus, including inPhocal, NXP Semiconductors, VitalFluid and VitalWear.
In small groups, participants learned about the work these companies do and the innovations they develop every day. Interest was high, with visitors asking many questions and enjoying engaging conversations with employees. The visits once again showed that curiosity knows no age.
Exploring the campus
Another group of participants chose to join an extensive tour of the High Tech Campus. Together with employees from organisations including ASML, InSpace, Philips and PRECEYES, residents of Zorggroep De Laren, Vitalis Gagelbosch, and participants from SWZ zorg Eindhoven and MEE De Meent Groep explored the campus grounds.
Guided by Bert-Jan Woertman and Peter, they learned about the history of the site, its remarkable buildings and the many companies based there. The guides’ enthusiasm and knowledge made a lasting impression on the participants.
Companies open their doors
Residents from the emergency accommodation location of Wasbeer & Pauw also had the opportunity to explore the campus. They were welcomed by TNO and Philips, where employees provided tours and shared insights into their daily work. Following the company visits, participants joined a guided tour of the campus. This gave them not only a look inside two organisations, but also a better understanding of the innovative ecosystem in which these companies collaborate.
Walking, meeting and enjoying the day together
For a group of residents from Vitalis Wissehaege, the day began even before arriving at the campus. Together with employees from ASML, they walked to High Tech Campus Eindhoven. For many participants, it was their first visit to the site. Alongside the company visits and guided tours, there was plenty of time to meet others and enjoy the day together. Thanks to the activity square organised by Xpat Housing Solutions, ABN AMRO and Language Institute Regina Coeli, participants spent the afternoon enjoying a variety of games and activities. From tin-can throwing to jeu de boules, there was lots of laughter, encouragement and shared enjoyment. Participants also had the chance to win some great prizes.
A successful first edition
With 80 corporate volunteers and more than 100 participants, Samen voor onze Regio looks back on a successful first edition of the High Tech Campus Corporate Volunteer Day. The event brought together people who might not otherwise have met and gave participants the opportunity to experience a unique and inspiring place in our region from up close.
Samen voor onze Regio would like to thank all companies, corporate volunteers, community organisations and participants who helped make this day possible. Special thanks go to High Tech Campus Eindhoven for providing the venue and to Bazelmans AV for supplying the speaker and microphone.
While taking part in volunteer activities through Samen voor onze Regio as a Rabobank employee, I discovered how much impact just a few hours of your time can make. Those experiences touched me every single time. Not only because you can make a difference for someone else, but also because you see firsthand what attention, time, and genuine involvement can mean to people. After those experiences, I knew one thing for sure: I wanted to contribute more to society. That is exactly what I now have the opportunity to do as a Relationship Manager at Samen voor onze Regio. I connect businesses and social organizations and support them in creating social impact together. It’s incredibly rewarding work and something that gives me a great deal of energy every day.
